Installation Eye Candy: Little Octopus

by Andrea Reynolds

We’ll just come out and say it: Little Octopus is one of our favorite installations to date. Soft colors, a mix of natural and luxe textures, and a colorful, veggie-forward menu creates a recipe for success (and, not surprisingly, a very Instagrammable space). Take a look at its design to see what makes this restaurant so special.

Located in East Nashville, Little Octopus is owned and operated by Sarah and Brad Gavigan. Inspired by their travels to the Carribbean, Little Octopus serves up vegetable and seafood dishes brimming with color, texture, and flavor. The design is equally as palatable, dreamt up by the LA-based design firm Design, Bitches. Taking hints from the Carribbean menu, the overall restaurant design uses pops of pink, sandy neutrals, and and even a gold octopus mural.

Trust us, good design drives sales. Read more here.

To achieve that vintage Miami feel, Design, Bitches opted for a mix of classic and modern restaurant furniture. Textured cane chairs line solid wood dining tables while modern pink, upholstered booths and gorgeous Merano Barstools flank the bar area.

And finally, a huge gold octopus mural, painted by local Nashvile artist Chris Zidek, caps off this vibrant and fresh design. Each element of the space, from the abundance of leafy green plants to the fun and creative lighting, makes this totally unique. You can find Little Octopus at 505 12th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 3720.
