3 Facts About Our Solid Wood Tables

by Andrea Reynolds

At Grand Rapids Chair, we take great pride in making sure we exceed expectations for our clients.

To showcase how seriously we take that promise, here’s a look into how we construct our beautiful restaurant tables at our West Michigan facility.

1. Local, Sustainable Lumber

Before we even start making a table, we take great care to be sure we have sourced the best lumber possible. All the wood we use to create our tables comes straight from our trusted, local suppliers. We only use wood from responsibly-managed Michigan and Midwestern forests.

Our solid wood table tops are hand-selected by our talented craftsman to create a unique, yet uniform look. Our skilled technicians then sand and stain the boards by hand. We invest a great deal of time and energy ensuring that perfectly harmonized look and feel.

2. Easy Installations

Our Labor Saver Tool is a unique feature we add to many of our table bases. It saves customers hours of assembly time on larger installations. It uses a fixed, hardened 1/2" bolt that is hard-welded into a heavy plate inside the bottom of the column. The bolt simply attaches to the base and is tightened by a nut and washer. All of our column-style bases come with this handy attachment.

3. Constructed with Integrity

The bottom line is making an excellent restaurant table is important to us at Grand Rapids Chair. Our tables are carefully crafted for high-traffic areas and high-use spaces, so customers can be certain their table is not only beautiful, but built to last, too. This is just one reason why each product we produce is thoroughly inspected before being shipped to ensure it meets our high level of construction standards.
