You know a delicious dining experience doesn’t just involve the cuisine, but also the ambiance that surrounds it. Today’s diners are coming to expect warm and modern atmospheres from all types of commercial dining spaces. Because of this, restaurant designers are finding ways to harmonize the menu and design using wood furniture.
It’s no surprise. Wood restaurant chairs are comfortable, durable, and downright gorgeous. They offer a warmth and sophistication you can’t get with an all metal chair. In honor of their beauty and functionality, here are five of our favorite restaurant designs that showcase their modern identities with the help of wood seating.
1. Coastal Glam at Little Octopus
Little Octopus
Meet Little Octopus, a full-service casual restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee. Los Angeles design firm, Design, Bitches, used soft colors, a mix of natural and luxe textures, and our striking Merano wood barstools. Add in the colorful, veggie-forward menu, and they’ve created a recipe that’s destined for success. For a complete look at the Little Octopus restaurant, check out our feature here.
2. farmhouse meets food court at lynhall
Lynhall is a welcomed addition to the Minneapolis food court and cafe scene. They’ve used our black Hugh Chairs to create areas that enrich and empower the space for both productivity and style. The simple and warm Windsor design boldly shapes the market-inspired cafe, event area, kitchen studio, and even an incubator area.
3. natural Luxe Materials at one fifty one kitchen
One Fifty One Kitchen, designed by Aria Group
Here’s a peek at One Fifty One Kitchen, a tranquil and sophisticated restaurant in Elmhurst, Illinois. They’re creating design symmetry through large statement pieces and a variety of wood elements like our Tilly Chairs finished in our dark Kona.
4. Southern Charm at Workshop
Workshop, a food court in Charleston, South Carolina. The design takes southern charm to a new level with our Hugh and Bentwood Chairs as a centerpiece of the space. The exposed duct work, bright windows, copper accents, and light wood tabletops also help exude a sense of classic sophistication. Get inspired with our sneak peek at the entire space.
5. PINSTRIPES & PASTA at sarto's italian eatery
And finally, we bring you Sarto's, found in Denver, Colorado. This casual dining establishment uses Aperol and pinstripes in parts of their design, so what’s not to like? Nestled up to the bar, you’ll find our Cara Barstools. The main dining area is complete with our custom Melissa Chairs. The eatery makes a fun, but modern statement surrounding its classic Northern Italian fare.
And now, a sneak peek into our newest wood seating collection, Brooke. Designed by Tim Stoepker, Brooke will be available this fall. Available as a chair, a counter height stool, or barstool, this collection has three upholstery variations that can be specified in nearly any upholstery textile and in your choice of all wood or laminate.
