Everything’s Bigger in Texas, Especially This Entertainment Venue

by Dean Jeffery

After almost a year of social distancing at home, I find myself dreaming about a carefree night out. Enter Strike + Reel, a Dallas-based entertainment venue that is a first of its kind.

This place has everything including state-of-the-art interactive video games to a bowling alley to an LED-lit rock climbing wall and luxury dine-in movie theater auditoriums. When combined, all elements make for one epic date night experience.

Compared to a traditional movie venue or bowling alley, Strike + Reel feels elevated and modern. Designed by Coeval Studio, the 90,000 square foot facility features a semi open floor plan that encourages guests to explore and enjoy the different activity areas.

The overall aesthetic is described as “Texas Modern” with its natural wood floors, painted wood walls, modern chairs and bar stools and richly colored upholstered elements

And while the heated theater seats sound divine, especially as we head into winter, my favorite part of the space is the bar and full-service restaurant. Industrial chairs and bar stools really call attention to that Texas Modern style with the warm wood finish and clear coated steel frames.

In the lounge area, Coeval opted for Harper lounge chairs which are finished in a fully wrapped leather with a black frame. The minimal design really compliments the other contemporary elements of the space while still feeling warm and welcoming.

Visiting this impressive entertainment venue has quickly made its way to the top of my post quarantine to-do list. Strike + Reel somehow manages to fit all of these fun things under one roof while still feeling like a boutique hospitality environment.
